We are delighted to share that WFT Member Denise Deegan has joined RTE’s beloved TV Show Fair City as a new writer, and her first episode airs tomorrow, Friday 24th November 2023, at 7:30PM, on RTE One!
Denise shares with WFT: “It’s an honour to write for Fair City and step up to the unique challenges of serial drama writing. I feel my work benefiting as a result.”

About Denise Deegan
Denise Deegan is a novelist published by Penguin Random House and Hachette. Since turning to screenwriting, just before Covid, Denise has won a PAGE Award, the Pitch Film Fund and an Academy Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist selection. Her short film, THE INNKEEPER has just received an Honourable Mention at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the This is England Film Festival in Rouen. Denise has three features and two TV series in development with Irish, UK and Finnish producers. She has received support from Screen Ireland, Culture Ireland, Creative Europe Ireland and the Arts Council.
