Join WFT Ireland at Cork International Film Festival (CIFF) 2025 for Menopause & the Screen A Dual Lens – From Perception to Representation.

Presented by The National Talent Academies, in partnership with Women in Film and Television (WFT) Ireland, Screen Guilds of Ireland (SGI), and Cork International Film Festival (CIFF), and as part of the Menopause Awareness Programme for the Screen Sector, this in-person event will explore how menopause is portrayed—and often misunderstood—both culturally and creatively.

The day will begin with a hands-on creative workshop led by Writers Guild of Ireland (WGI) Chair Jennifer Davidson, designed to empower participants to reimagine menopause narratives through screenwriting.

Following the workshop, a panel discussion led by WFT Ireland Chair Dr. Susan Liddy, alongside leading voices from film, TV, academia, and crew, will explore how menopause, menopausal people, and mid-life women are portrayed in screen culture.

Panellists:

Contributing Moderator – Dr Susan Liddy

Academic  – Deborah Jermyn
