Deborah Doherty, newly appointed WFT Ireland Board Member and Joint Managing Director of Elephant Goldfish

Deborah is the joint Managing Director and Executive Producer at Elephant Goldfish, Dublin’s newest VFX and post-production studio. A part of the internationally renowned Molinare Creative Group, the studio delivers cutting-edge, creative-first solutions in visual effects, colour, audio, and editorial services across film, television, animation, and gaming.

Having started her career in audio production in London, Deborah joined Windmill Lane in 2005, where she was instrumental in expanding the studio’s audio division and later taking on wider management responsibilities. Her strengths in strategic leadership, client collaboration, and talent development have made her a pivotal figure in Ireland’s post-production landscape.

Her extensive list of recent credits includes high-profile international projects such as Steve (Netflix), Blue Moon (Richard Linklater), The Tourist (BBC), Bodkin (Netflix/Higher Ground), Doctor Who (BBC/Disney), and Irish favourites including Smother, Blackshore, and Kin. In animation, she has overseen post on titles like Kizazi Moto, Grimsberg, and My Little Pony: A New Generation.

“We are delighted to welcome Deborah Doherty to the WFT Ireland Board,” said Dr Susan Liddy, Chair of Women in Film and Television Ireland and President of Women in Film and Television International. “Her commitment to innovation and to fostering emerging talent aligns perfectly with our mission to empower and support women across all areas of the Irish screen industries.”

Deborah is a passionate advocate for inclusion and sustainability in the industry and is an active participant in film festivals and creative industry initiatives. Most recently, she moderated the VFX panel at WFT Ireland’s Greater Later: Building Sustainable Careers event, held on 29th May 2025 – a special gathering celebrating screen professionals aged 40 and over, supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland.

Her insight and experience continue to be invaluable as WFT Ireland advances its mission to promote greater equity, visibility and opportunity for women and marginalised voices across the screen industries.
