Dingle Distillery International Film Festival Masters Weekend: Nov 8-10

The Dingle Distillery International Film Festival (DDIFF) announces it will host an
unmissable weekend of Masters’ Talks and film screenings at the Dingle Skellig Hotel from
Nov 8th to 10th, 2024. Presented in association with Screen Ireland, this special weekend
event will feature five different talks with leading film industry figures as well as three
evening film screenings—including the Dingle Peninsula premiere of the smash hit film
‘Kneecap’, showing on Sunday, Nov 10th at 8pm.

Kicking off the weekend on Friday Nov 8th at 2pm, local legend Philip King, the multi-
talented musician, broadcaster and producer of ‘Other Voices’, will share insights from his

successful career and discuss his recent experience producing the acclaimed film, ‘That They
May Face the Rising Sun’. Philip will also present a screening of this beautiful film on
Saturday night at 8pm.
On Saturday Nov 9th at 10am, Hollywood feature film producer and local resident Ned Dowd
will reveal the process and core principles of turning a 120-page film script into a finished
film. Ned will present a screening of his “funny and touching” film ‘Wonder Boys’ on Friday
evening at 8pm.
On Saturday afternoon at 2:15pm, renowned film producer Winston Azzopardi will discuss
his experiences making blockbuster “epic movies” on his home of Malta, one of the world’s
most popular shooting locations.
The weekend continues Sunday morning at 10am with legendary Casting Director and Dingle
resident Ros Hubbard. Ros will be joined by Maureen Hughes, one of Ireland’s leading
contemporary Casting Directors. This will be an entertaining and illuminating session that
explores the casting process and the art of film acting.
Rounding out the talks on Sunday afternoon at 2:15pm, three award-winning Irish
documentary directors (Mark McLoughlin, Brenda Ní Shúilleabháin, and James Byrne) will
share their different perspectives on non-fiction filmmaking.
Wrapping up the weekend on a high will be a screening of the smash hit film of the year,
‘Kneecap’, playing at 8pm on Sunday night.
