As you may know, WFT Ireland has been forging international links over the last eighteen months to ensure our members are kept abreast of international developments, opportunities, and possibilities. Chair, Dr. Susan Liddy, has been in regular contact with President of Women in Film and Television International (WFTI), Helene Granqvist, who spearheaded a partnership with Herflix, an exciting new streaming service. Susan met with Helene and the CEO of Herflix, Adriana Shaw and we are satisfied that the streaming service is up and running and ready for you to sign up!

We are delighted to bring you this exciting opportunity and wish you well in finding a wider audience for your films. All WFT Ireland members are eligible. Features, documentaries & short films can be all be streamed and your agreement with Herflix is non-exclusive.

Want to find out more? It couldn’t be easier! You can contact Adriana direct at wifti@herflix.com and tell her you’re interested. Simple as that! You will be contacted with all the information you require. If you decide to get involved you will be walked through the steps you need to take to get your films out there! Adriana’s assistant Lizz and the Herflix tech people will be on hand in case there are any technical issues or queries.

Herflix will market your film(s) within WFTI chapters worldwide – whether that audience is on the web, mobile devices or connected TVs. Take a look at the information here: HERFLIX Info Sheet.pdf

WFT Ireland Chair, Dr. Susan Liddy, said: “We’re delighted to support this WFTI initiative and encourage our members to submit their films to Herflix. It gives us great satisfaction and delight to imagine your work finding and engaging new audiences across the world!”

WFT Ireland Vice-Chair and filmmaker, Vanessa Gildea, is one of the first Irish filmmakers past the post. After chatting to Adriana and satisfying herself that this streaming service has something to offer Irish filmmakers Vanessa signed up herself. “I am delighted to have my films included as content on this female-driven platform, to test the platform and show how well it can work,” she said. “Any platform that promotes and celebrates women’s films is the perfect partner for WFTI and WFT Ireland.”
