Registration Now Open For The World Conference Of Screenwriters Galway, October 2024

Registration for the 6th World Conference of Screenwriters to be held in Galway this October 2nd and 3rd is now open at wcos.io for members of Writers Guilds under the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe or the International Affiliation of Writers Guilds.

The first conference was held in Athens in 2009, followed by Barcelona, Warsaw, Berlin and
Copenhagen. The World Conference is rooted in the empowering value of bringing the
international community of Writers’ Guilds, and screenwriters, together. It is global solidarity
in action. Over two days, in the capital of the Irish Film & Television Industry we will gather
to discuss “The Power of Stories and Stories of Power” as we recognise what screenwriters
can achieve, and what your Guild can achieve. And of course, to talk about how much more
we can, and must achieve globally.

Chair of the Writers Guild of Ireland, Jennifer Davidson said “It is such an honour for us in the
Writers’ Guild of Ireland to host the World Conference of Screenwriters as we celebrate our
Emerald Anniversary. I am particularly delighted that we get to host this important
international event in the West of Ireland. Our programme of speakers and panels is truly
global, and is going to make for a really compelling two days of talks. We look forward to
welcoming the international screenwriting community to Galway, and to putting a spotlight
on our craft and our industry. We are grateful to our partners and sponsors who have helped
make this event possible – the IAWG, the FSE, Screen Ireland, the National Talent Academy,
TG4 and the Galway Convention Bureau.”

Please note numbers are limited, and registration is not confirmed until the WCOS team
issues you with a confirmation email.
