Prodigy
Roisin Kearny’s Prodigy screens at the Cork Film Festival as part of Irish Shorts 1 at 14:00 on 10th November, 2018 at The Gate Cinema
‘The making of Prodigy was a dive into the collective madness that is indie filmmaking. While shooting another short together Naomi Sheridan [Writer/Director] got the news that the legendary pianist John O’Conor would like to play the part of Sebastian in a script she had sent him called Prodigy.’

The Shift
The Shift will have its world premiere at Shorts 1 programme on the 10th. It is also nominated for Best Cork Short, with a second screening on the 18th.
The screenplay for The Shift was the winner of the Film in Cork Short Script Award 2018, and saw writer Máiread Kiernan, director Megan K. Fox and producer Karen Twomey (Bankhouse Productions) come together to make a zany short film about a thirsty teenage girl’s quest to get the shift.
Set at the Gaeltacht in West Cork, and peppered with focail Gaeilge, the 13min film introduces three exceptionally talented young Irish actresses; Fiona Bergin as Denise, Úna O’Brien as Rachel and Ciara Rose Van Buren as Cliodhna. world premiere at Cork Film Festival in the Irish Shorts 1 programme on the 10th. It is also nominated for Best Cork Short, with a second screening on the 18th.
I Didn’t…I Wasn’t…I Amn’t (an-unromantic comedy)
It is a dark blue un-romantic comedy, on the the social contract of human endeavour between men and women, in the paradox of modern life.

Neili Conroy (Damon & Ivor) and Laoisa Sexton (Redrock)
The film will screen as part of the Shorts Programme on Wednesday November 14th at 3:45pm.
