Screen sisters! CinÉireann wants you!

Ireland’s monthly film journal CinÉireann got in touch with us because they feel they are not representing women enough in the magazine. Editor Niall (who also runs Scannain) is aware that there has not been enough female contributors writing for the mag, and also not enough articles about women in each issue.

So, members, colleagues and friends alike, he wants to hear from you!

Maybe you have a great idea for an article? Maybe you’re a producer or a DOP and you’d be happy to be interviewed or profiled? Maybe you have some industry insights specific to women? Or you know of a trend that’s news worthy and something you’d like to explore?

Niall is the commissioning and managing editor and runs it with no funding (revenue covers costs), but there is a fixed fee for contributors which you can discuss with him if he wants to run your piece.

Niall asks that you have a look over past issues which are available online to see the kind of subjects CinÉireann covers (no reviews, long form, analysis, TV/film/animation, focusing on Irish releases etc) and then write a short paragraph outlining your idea and email it to him at: niall [at] cine [dot] ie

Thanks for reading and feel free to share this with other women you know.
