WFT Events at the Catalyst International Film Festival 2024

Women in Film and Television Ireland are hosting two engaging panels with the Catalyst International Film Festival. It Starts With The Script and Producing Change take place on Saturday 20th April at The Terrace in The Savoy Hotel, Limerick. The panels are followed by networking drinks until 4:30 PM. 

 

IT STARTS WITH A SCRIPT 

Location: The Terrace, The Savoy Hotel

Time: 2PM – 3PM

A marriage made in heaven – or hell!  How can the screenwriter and script editor work together to enhance a screenplay

Panellists: Victoria Thomas, and WFT Members Mary Kate O Flanagan, Elaine Walsh. Moderated by Gemma Creagh (Screenwriter / Playwright / WFT Ireland) 

 

PRODUCING CHANGE 

Location: The Terrace, The Savoy Hotel

Time: 3PM – 4PM

What drives people to create a production company? How do you mix business with the creative? Panellists share their motivations and challenges as producers to drive positive change in the industry.

Panellists: Nell Hensey, Claire Mooney, Paul Ryan and WFT Member Jennifer Davidson. Moderated by Marissa Aroy (WFT Ireland / Emmy Award Winning Filmmaker)

WFT is delighted to see so many talented women and WFT members at the festival.

Keep an eye out for the masterclass Screening The Future Student Day Interactive Filmmaking on 18th April, featuring our members Johanna Thea and Laura O’Shea! The film Baltimore, distributed by WFT Ireland Board Member Siobhan Farrell’s Eclipse Pictures will be screened on 19th April. Our Board Member, IFTA-Nominated Hannah Quinn will speak on the Directors Masterclass taking place on 20th April! A screening of WFT Member Patricia Kelly’s IFTA-nominated film Verdigris, featuring WFT Member Geraldine McAlinden, will close the festival.
