WFT Ireland is proud to present the official line WFT Ireland is proud to present the official line up for the WFT Ireland 2024 Short Film Showcase, taking place at the Irish Film Institute on Monday 9th December. 

Now in its 7th year, the showcase celebrates the diverse and dynamic work being created by women filmmakers in Ireland today. 

Dr Susan Liddy, Chair of WFT Ireland says “We are thrilled to present the best of our members’ work—this year the standard has been incredibly high, and we’re excited to promote their talent. There is so much creativity in Ireland, and it’s inspiring to see how these filmmakers are shaping the industry.”
 

In partnership with the IFI and supported by Coimisiún na Meán, the event will feature a selection of 6 short films, followed by an awards ceremony. The awards will include Best Film, Best Writer, Best Non-Fiction Film, Best Cinematographer, Best Actor, and Runner-Up. The showcase is open to all WFT Ireland members and offers a platform for both emerging and established voices in Irish filmmaking.

Director of Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale Season 2, Hannah Quinn, will be moderating the panel with actors Elaine Cassidy (Disco Pigs) and Hazel Doupe (Float Like A Butterfly, Kathleen is Here).

Supported by Coimisiún na Meán and hosted by Windmill Lane, the WFT Changemakers Series continues to highlight women who have made significant contributions to the visibility and empowerment of women in the industry.
